Friends Welcome

Does a trio for $35 still give you a profit margin? With exchange for incorrect gender as needed. I learned how to vent sex, I haven't tried ducks, but chickens and quail are pretty similar.

i am thinking so , will do the math in a bit. i want to learn how to vent , but the thing i would hate to do is hert the ducklings.

Cleaning up pasty butt takes longer.

What I do:

Watch them an wait for the chick to poop, once they have, gently pick them up, recline them so you can see the vent area and softly streach the vent opening apart (thing about how gentle you'd be if it was an eyelash in a friend's eye). look for nub or void, then slip a band on the leg, and set them down. Should be less than 30 secs total. Usually mr saddi lifts and I peek and band, the extra hands really help.

The nub means cockrel, right?

haha , i have no clue. tried it with a duck , just a hole there

no circular nub should be a girl, a bump is a boy. i'm visual so i know what i'm looking at when i see it.

I can't wait to take them!!! I just wish these cameras were less expensive... There goes my new saddle, but hey, I've got 5. I don't need another.

(Anyone want an english saddle? I never use it. It was my first and I haven't gotten rid of it yet... Poor old saddle.)

Maggie if you have ANY tack that you want to get rid of PM me and we can negotiate. We have saddles and bits. That's it. We can't afford new, so I have to look where I can. We got the saddles for $100 each and they are in great shape.

How much was your camera?? I have the Canon Rebel xTi 10.2 mp and it listed for $999, but I got it on sale and had a coupon and wound up paying $690.

It was around 800 including tax (The sale price was 699 for the body and an 18-55 VR lenses, I think I'll probably keep the VR turned off most the time though)... Not bad since I know I'm getting a lot of camera for the buck. I could have kept saving and gone for one of the new 300S & 700S series coming out, or even gone more professional for a 3s (In the 'up there' thousands, as I like to say when the price would knock me out...). But I've had several people tell me how great the 5000 was, and these are professional photographers, not people who spend all their time on the auto setting(These are the people who told me it was too complicated.

If simple is what you want, get a point and shoot.). I like to get creative with my ISO's and F-stops.

Speaking of the rebel, I've heard a lot of good things about it. I was considering the canon line and the sony when thinking about my new acquisition. I decided against leaving the Nikon line because my mother and I do a lot of photography outings together, and over the past couple of years, we've built up a nice arsenal of lenses.

And I guess that means its time to take inventory of the saddles. I've been looking to get either a new barrel saddle or an old trail that I could use for riding around the lake (I've been a bit nervous about taking my old barrel out there because of water, and I've already had to replace the stirrups. The fix up cost more than the actual saddle did but it was definitely worth it. My horse is 'spirited' to say the least, so I'm surprised it lasted so long. ) I've got 6 right now, 3 english and 3 western.

I need to go lie down some, not going well today, but i need to stay wake for the kids. try a few more ducky, and it's ok to not be sure, you're still learning how. we can go over this more later.
