I just spent the past hour trying to build a new roost because the fat rooster broke the old one. It collapsed under his weight; my poor hens! The girls get on first and Lucy takes the last spot on the end of the lowest board. Only the second board broke, but it was all one fixture so the whole thing had to go. The new roost was just supposed to be a temp until I can get my more handy neighbor to build me a roost with a poop-board underneath. Anyway, I'm usually alright at building, but this thing didn't work well. Actually, it would better be described as a miserable fail. Guess the chickens will have to wait for a new roost.
