I wondered how you've been doing!
Things have been crazy here, too. The kids go back to school in a week, so I've been doing back-to-school shopping and other time consuming things. Ella's started to show interest in reading, so we've dusted off the Hooked On Phonics series from under Matthew's bed and started that with her. She loves when she can read the stories, but hates having to learn the words before reading the story, so it's been up and down. She's only 4, so I don't want to push her when she gets frustrated. I still don't know what to do with her as far as preschool goes. It looks like she didn't get into the Pre-K program at the elementary school and private preschools are SO expensive!
I'm taking some chickens and rabbits to a poultry swap this weekend in hopes of reducing my number of animals to a more manageable level (since Craigslist was such as abysmal failure). After I reduce my numbers my husband is going to help me remodel the chicken coop! I'm so excited!!! He's going to help me move the run like I wanted and we're going to build a partition in the barn with roll-out nest boxes, a homemade feeder that can hold an entire 50# bag of feed and an automatic watering system. Then I (or anyone doing chicken chores for me post-baby) can access the feed, water and eggs without entering the pen.
All is well with me. The baby is really active and I feel him move all the time. I feel good, other than tired and I'm starting to get winded walking up the stairs and back from the chickens, so he's starting to take over my lung capacity. Still haven't gained any baby weight, but I'm almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I'm so proud of my son! He loves soccer and he's so good at it. At the U10 level they have the kids try out instead of getting randomly assigned to teams in an effort to get more balanced teams (no kids are excluded who want to play.) Matthew was one of the first kids drafted and all the coaches wanted him! I talked to his new coach last night and he said he really, really wanted Matthew on his team and he was so excited to get him. He remembered his team playing against Matthew last season and Matthew had scored 6 goals on his team that game, so he really wanted him to play
for him!
