Frizzle question...

Just wondering if anyone knows if frizzle cochin bantam cockerels start showing wattles at 4 weeks old? I am trying to sex the 3 chicks that I have, they are just shy of 4 weeks old. And is it normal for them to have signs of combs this early or does that mean I probably have boys?

Sorry the pics aren't the greatest since they are under the red heat lamp but I will try taking better pics tomorrow. But the first pic is the one that I'm pretty certain is a female, the 2 in the second pic im not so sure...

Are they Bantams? All my bantam Cochin cockerels were obvious by week 4. My large fowl took an extra week to be sure they were male, but I do have one pullet who I was convinced was was a Cockerel forever. She had bright red, but tiny, wattles at 6 weeks old and the base of the comb was also red, however the comb itself remained yellow and did not grow.
Based off all that, lol, I'd say neither is obviously male right now.

Yes they are bantams :) and they are 5 weeks old now and haven't changed much at all from the pictures as for comb or wattles, I guess they will just be surprises :) At least your message gives me a little hope that at least they both aren't definitive boys since I won't be able to keep them both if they are, and I really want to keep them, they are so adorable :) Thanks!

I am just seeing the clearer photos now and they both appear to be pullets. I do not see any significant wattle formation in either of them and the combs are quite yellow. 😊
