FRIZZLE QUESTION

Hi Diane,
I'm still not sure what your goal is, but if you are trying to breed more 'Cochin-y' type birds, only use the 'Cochin-y' feathered offspring (loose feathering) --- not the tight / close feathered offspring that take after the Game hens.

That's a different thing from smooth (lack of frizzling) and frizzled.
I think...

Hi Lisa,

I was told to breed frizzle to smooth feathered to get frizzle and that the offspring that didn't show frizzle would still be valuable to the breeding program. How? I have lot's of pure cochins for breeding to my two frizzled roos but didn't want to get rid of those that didn't frizzle if they would be valuable to my program. Which is breeding my own frizzled cochins. Someone said that they could be used to improve the frizzle....since you should not breed frizzle to frizzle.....? gee this can be confusing!
