We have two cute frizzle bantam chickens about 3.5 months old. One of them has feathers that frizzled out and the other is straight feathered. We thought they. We're just different manifestations of the same breed, and both hens. Recently, the straight feathered one has developed a wattle and a crest that is a little different from the grizzled one. Personality wise I would not have guessed it was a rooster. She/he is not highest in the pecking order, is below our three barred rock but above the other frizzle. Sometimes she chest thumps with the other birds but they are all hens. She has slightly curved tail feathers and iridescent feathers on the sides...
Any thoughts? If it is a rooster we are not allowed to keep it. So sad.
