Hi everyone I am new to owning chickens. I bought my first 3 chicks Feb. 25th. I've been wanting chickens for many years but about a few months ago I heard about Frizzles. I'm in love with Black Frizzles. Not sure why, I just do. :) Well when I went to buy a Silkie the guy showed me all of his Chickens and he said he had a black frizzle chick. Mumbles, that's what I named him/her is getting feathers in now. Does it look like Mumbles feathers are frizzling? Because the guy said sometimes they don't Frizzle. Is that so?

Here's my sweet girl Daisy. She's a Cochin frizzle, about 19 weeks in this photo.

My frizzle is sitting on 7 eggs for 8 days now! This is her first set of fertile eggs from the neighbors Barred Rock rooster with 3 EE eggs, 2 RIR eggs, and 2 pure barred rock eggs!

I'm keeping one female EE if I get one, the rest of the hatched chicks go back to the neighbor. It's too bad I don't have my own rooster, I'd hatch little frizzles!

Hello everyone! I have a question for all you Frizzle people. I have a Frizzle Cochin bantam hen that came to us in a hatchery assortment. Unfortunately, the poor little thing has a double expression of the Frizzle gene, so she is mostly naked. Winter is just around the corner, and even though she is putting on more feathers every day I am worried that she still won't have enough cover to stay warm. I can house her inside our barn in a cage with a heat lamp, but she would have to be by herself which probably won't sit well with her. I was considering fixing up some sort of sweater or coat - maybe one of each - so she can stay warm, but can still run around outside with her friends. Any thoughts, ideas, or opinions for how to get her outfitted for the cold weather? Thanks!
