Frizzle thread

Is she broody and sitting on the eggs? Do you provide oyster shell for them? Mine love the minerals from the crushed oyster shells and it helps them have healthy eggs. Maybe she is missing some kind of minerals her body needs or wants. I have not had one that eats poop that I am aware of, however I am not out there 24/7. So, I might have a closet poop eater. LOL! Hope this helps.

I've seen many of my chickens take a taste of poop, though they don't really eat it. Its disgusting, but...chickens are pretty dirty creatures.

Could she maybe just be eating bugs that are in or on the poo?

Does this even exist???
Is there a bantam or smaller sized breed that lays colored (blue/green or even dark chocolate brown) eggs that can be frizzled?
Does anyone have any frizzled feathered young (under 6 months) pullets for sale?
I tried and hatched serma & polish with frizzle gene but only got straight feathered chicks. I love them but still want a frizzle feathered hen.
I have no preference on breed just looking now for blue, green or chocolate egg laying frizzle feathered young pullet over 4 weeks but under 6 months.
I'm not in a rush actually wont have coop up for another 2 weeks at least. My serama are 5 weeks old and my polish are 2 weeks old.

Any breed can be frizzled. Marans, Americaunas, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, ECT and you can pretty much find all of them in either bantam or standard size. How fun!
As for finding them, you could stalk your local Craigslist for them, post on your states thread in the Where Am I? Where Are You? section or the wanted section right here on BYC :)

Good luck!

I read the "Is it a Boy?" article last night and started to freak out about my new frizzle EE pullet. She is 11-12 weeks old and has a very small pea comb and no wattles or red yet. What she does have is some unusual coloring, an extremely hyper personality and some crazy frizzle feathers that are making me nervous. This is my first frizzle and every feather looks pointed to me. I can't tell if I'm looking at saddle and hackle feathers or typical frizzle feathering.

She/he NEVER stands still so it is very hard to get any pictures but here are a few:

Does anyone have a pullet that looked like this? I would really appreciate any input! Thanks!

My Frizzle's are all calm like Silkies, so don't know why yours is so hyper. Just her personality maybe. She is pretty.
