Mom on her nest-a cereal bowl.

Thats just too cute :love

Ok a few last minute questions. :)

I think these are frizzled silkies, rather than straight frizzles. However, one is smooth. So could someone just confirm? This blue is a smooth feathered frizzle carrying bird right? And the other two are frizzled silkies?

Thanks, new to frizzle!

Yes. As you thought some of the birds are frizzle, but silkie? My guess is that these chickens are cross breeds. The feathering on the blue is not pure silkie.

Your frizzles don't have silkied feathers, so they aren't Silkies. They do look like Sizzles though (the hen in my avatar is a frizzled Sizzle). The smooth is just smooth, it doesn't carry some hidden frizzle gene. If the bird doesn't show frizzled feathers, its not a frizzle. Hope this helps. They're super cute!

I have three "smooth" feathered birds that have some frizzle characteristics-definitely not normal smooth. Time will tell. Frizzle is an incomplete dominant gene/a blending of traits. With my three, Mom is frizzle and Pops is smooth. When Mom starts to lay again I plan on pairing her to the son.

The breeder I got them from had sizzle/frizzle/silkies is there a way to tell what I got? Also the colors?

Thank you! I know the parents (or at least one-as they were in with regular silkies too) were sizzles. I just know that there's a difference between sizzles and frizzled silkies. I'm just not sure how you tell the difference?
