So I bought a pair of polish houdans. A pair. Right. And than this little ...girl sounded like she was crowing this morning. Is she a he?

Houdans should not be pure black. They should be mottled black and white or pure white. Only two accepted colours.Crested one is for sure a rooster. Other bird in the photo is a hen. They are not Houdans; the male looks like a Polish mix, and the hen is also a mix. Houdans would be pure black, with five toes.

Yes, I think she's a pullet.Frankenfurter is indeed a rooster. He got on his first lady today. But he boop boops around the yard like a hen and mostly keeps to himself. I'm keeping him because he's so sweet. And he's polish so I appreciate the clarification. I was guessing houdan because he has a V comb that's pretty evident.
What about this houdan? I think it's female based on the last picture posted of a roo.
It was born the last week of may.
