I hope she will get better, the man who I got her off, had a frizzled female and a smooth male, and he has offered to take her back, but she is lovely, just hope I can help her

PM baregretchen with this link and a pic. She has frizzles that were molting last time we visited and looked just like yours. She keeps her coops and runs impeccably clean, and I have gotten quite a few birds from her and none of them have had mites. I believe this is just how frizzles look when they are molting.

Those look like long blood feathers to me- the bases look thick and dark, like many still have a blood supply. I would not mess with them as long as they are still blood feathers. You can tweak the ends of some of the longer ones to see if there is a frizzle feather under neath the sheath, but I would then leave them alone for now. I assume they are on a good diet, appropriate for their age and not heavy on the scratch/corn treats?

She is on layers pellets as she is 15 weeks old now, I still add a handful of chick crumb to the food for all the hens, I have had them for just under a week, and have never had a frizzle before..... I give them plenty of green, ie grass and clover, and only a handful of corn as a treat each afternoon. Is there something I should be doing differently...

And thanks acid_chipmunk I will message her now...

I really appreciate everyones help, thanks very much
