New England.. the cold part.
Started broody off with 14 eggs. 3 of her own and 11 shipped ones (inc. 4 duck)... she kicked 3 out the other day, and today, when I took her off to feed her. i saw that she'd stuffed 3 more eggs away from her (runner egg included

), and they were cold.. and I checked all her other eggs, and 2 were broken, including the jumbo pekin egg... so now i'm down to 4 chicken eggs and 2 duck... with 2 more weeks to go... here's hoping I get ANY chicks at all!

Hoping the rest all hatch!

Did you add the chicken eggs a week after the ducks? Or do you plan on finishing the ducks in an incubator?

Yeah... I've never hatched before... I didn't realize the incubation period was different... I might take the chicks when they hatch?and leave broody on the ducks? I don't know. I don't own an incubator at all... what do you think I should do?

That is a good plan, though I've never tried it so I can't attest to its effectiveness. Maybe you should start a new thread asking this question (or change the title of this one)?

I'm sure there is someone out there that has tried it!
