BougiChicks
In the Brooder
Hi everyone!
I’m excited to be part of this flock.
I’m not totally new to chickens—we had them when I was growing up in Alaska, and feeding them was one of my daily chores (which I didn’t always appreciate at the time). But after moving from downtown Seattle to Enumclaw, I finally had the space—and the desire—to start my own flock, and now I’m completely hooked.
I have four chicks, all hatched on March 30, 2025—three Easter Eggers and one sweet Buff Orpington named Lucy. (There may also be a surprise rooster or two in the mix… we’ll see!)
I’m loving the rhythm of it all—watching their personalities unfold and spoiling them with fermented organic feed, fresh herbs, and ridiculously fancy breakfasts. I even set up a 24/7 chick cam so people can peek into their fluffy little world.
Outside the coop, I’m a professional web designer (and amateur chicken paparazzi). We live in Enumclaw with one very curious dog—a Chihuahua/Shih Tzu/Corgi mix who’s still learning to respect the pecking order.
I’ve come across BYC a few times while researching all the things, and finally decided it was time to join. Excited to learn, share, and connect with people who fully understand the joy (and chaos) of backyard chickens!
