Chicks are arriving around the 27th. I'm doing all I can to prepare. (obsessive !) I originally wanted to go with pullets but they were surprisingly hard to come by in a trustworthy sort of way locally. So I finally just said to myself I have enough supplies on hand to at least start them off. Plus I want friendly birds used to people. I have memories of my parents chickens (like 40 + years ago) when I was very young and they had a nasty rooster that left a very negative impression on me.

Been waiting for our barred rock or speckled sussex to FINALLY lay and looks like today might have been the day not sure which one did it but they are beautiful eggs! Looking forward to tomorrow. View attachment 2373641

@TwoCrows and @Tre3hugger I think you both are the only ones watching my updates :lau I dont care how many people I have on here, its not about that. I will still keep posting because I enjoy this site and my chicken babies. Excited to see what eggs I get today and what pictures will come have a great day you two!
