I believe that these guys are the ones hatched in November, so not yet 3 months old

I wish I had a silkie male to mate her with. Glorious silkie babies. That's what I remember, but I have to be sure that our Naked Neck star sticks around to sing us some more tunes in a bedazzled hat!
She totally is! I figure she has to have Salmon Faverolle in there. Either that or those are some big EE cheeks!Charlene is so adorable with those muffs and that beard!

Hubs built a roost for the roosters. They don't use it. They still use the porch rails. Gonna need to find a way to get them off the porch. It's getting roody doody all over it and I'm tired of cleaning it up lol.
We cleaned out the chicken area. Laid down some lime, then flakes, then straw. Left them a dust bath area. Nope. They made their own. Rude birds. Now to build a nest area soon. Probably will taken down the brood light too. It doesn't get below 30 in winter here. Usually stays in the high 30s or low 40s max. You can count on one hand the time it hits below 30 usually.
Also. The new rooster sleep area was kid tested for quality purposes.

Do chickens suffer from inbreeding and all that? I take Dolly, mate her with a purebred silkie, then mate baby with dad for better silkie genes? Would the NN gene still be in there?Yay! All in due time! Remember, if you want to get silkie-feathered birds out of her, you would need to breed her with a male expressing the gene, and then cross the offspring back with their father
