From egg to chick!

Pics
:wee Shape's a busy boy now, I assume
Nope. Snape got released into the back yard. He sits by the fence off and on. When he isnt at my neighbor's area with their hen. I feel this way he can stay. He isnt messing with my kids and he is still here. So they are roosterless. Hook pops in but he doesn't rooster. He just hangs out lol.

Both my brahmas aren't laying either. Neither is my Americauna.

It's expected for you; yours are still young'uns. Brahma take longer to mature. Although their daughter was the second pullet to lay, she's weird. My pure brahma are old, and all my older birds (with the exception of one hen coming out of motherhood, and one or two serama which are picky with their cold tolerance) are laying. For the EEs, I have no clue. They're pretty much a guessing game

Not a bad life, I'd say. Hopefully once one of the cockerels you hatched steps up they can have another male. I'd be careful with letting Hook in. Especially if you'd like the hatch chicks in the future. He's crossbeaked

Have you tried a see no touch? Most of the birds I have are bossy AF (one beat up a loan broody hen, the broody didn't hatch out anything, but she did get her behind kicked when she escaped her broody pen. Another fought off two or three birds while she had a bleeding gash on her side. They're tough nuts), so a see no touch is the only thing that works here
Yes, No See No Touch for a week or 2 then, BAM beat the snot out of the Marans! My issue I think was trying to introduce a lone hen to my Posse of 3 and BBO. If/when one of these girls pass on, I’ll try it again introducing 2 hens. My coop is too small for more than 4 girls.

Oh. He doesn't mate with them. Doesn't even try. He just pops over for food 🤣

About to turn 3. Big Bossy Orpington (BBO) laid every day from 5 months until 15 months then nothing but an isolated egg here and there since. I was expecting her to pass of reproductive issue based on info here, nope.
She’s also the reason I can’t get more girls because she beats the snot out of anyone new 😭
I need a pic of BBO 😆

My babies are all still mellow. Occasional snippy peck here and there bc why not, but nothing bossy.

Neighbor's hen keeps hopping my fence. She IS bossy. I have to shoo her out my front yard bc she pecks at all my babies if they try to eat and she wants their food.
