From "Free Run" to Coop

Honestly, I just took plans for an elevated coop and extended the walls. I had to make lots of tweaks and changes, but it worked.

I should have made a better foundation, though. I'm no good at construction, really, so if I were to do it again, I might put the whole coop on top of plastic pallets or mortared pavers.

:hugs Easier is a standard floor with joists and sheeting. That base should go on blocks though to protect from weather.

Construction is a lot of learning so you're getting better already.

I don't really know how to do all that, and lumber is expensive. I know I suck at it. Some BYCers seem to enjoy reminding me (not you, of course - I mean others who prefer being mean over offering support/advice). My coop turned out very well and will last decades, even if my foundation isn't ideal.

And we are crazy dry here. Not much weather to protect from - LOL!
