From pip to hatch....Another quick update!!!

Well I finally went to bed at 3am, got up at 7am and one baby had died trying to get out of the shell. I could tell the way the baby was lying that it was dead so I only opened the incubator for a second, removed the egg and closed it back up. I just wanted to cry!!

It was a beautiful fawn and white baby. There's been no more progress at all. Just the initial pips. The only one that had made more progress than that, died.

Ocasionally I can still hear some pipping....thankfully.

oh that has to be difficult. I hope some of those peeping hatch soon. It is hard waiting.

Well I've been busying myself outside with the rest of the farm critters, mostly the ducks and the geese. So I've been trying to stay away from the incubator so I don't drive myself bonkers. I just came in to grab a drink and poked my head in to check out the eggs. Two eggs have holes in them the size of about a quarter! The glass on the incubator's a bit foggy so I can't really see if any more have made much progress but it looks as though at least 2 have.

Okay going back outside to collect eggs so I don't drive myself crazy.

2 babies have hatched so far. I tried to get pics but the incubator glass is just too fogged up! Come on babies...hatch hatch hatch!!!!!!

Oh that is fantastic!!! I'm so happy for you. Post pictures when you get them into the brooder. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Okay we have 6 hatched so far! The incubator is still too foggy to get a good picture. I have to have my nose to the incubator to count them. LOL

There are 2 more eggs left. One hasn't pipped at all.

The other has and the baby is working at it.

I can't wait to get my hands on these little fluffy butts!!!!
