Agreed, sounds good to me too. I just bought piano hinges for my doors so i knew they'd handle the weight. Got them and all latches and even 16d nails at ollies for rock bottom prices. 40-70% below lowes prices on all of it. Check them out if you have one close by.

My buddy up the street has family down your way, i personally haven't been down there but I and my family have hit foley beach. Too bad we're not closer i could help you and vise versa. Maybe next go round. Happy building

Ventalation is a must other wise when it gets cold frost bite from moister build up will cause issues. I went around the top of my new coop on 3 sides with hardware cloth following the pitch of the roof. Absolutley my best feature of this coop.

Thank you for all the tips. Can you elaborate on this a little or take a picture? I'm struggling to put together what you are describing. I understand the ventilation, moisture, frostbite part. But I don't know how you are describing the three sides of hardware cloth of the roof. You are talking about three of four walls and may be the top 2 to 3 inches left open and hardware cloth to prevent predators?

Again, thank you and I will definitely PM you in the future. I will be looking for chickens soon hopefully and have been wanting to get to them semi-locally as opposed to ordering from a big national hatchery or from tractor supply. I like doing local business.
