Just note that the "screen" material on that door will not keep out local predators. If you have ANY predators in your area, you will need to add 1/2" Hardware Cloth mesh on the "screen" part of that door.

Update 9-17.

I got 2 sides done with regards to the Hardware Cloth installation and the cemented dig-trench. If you look carefully at the pics you can see a trench between the vertical posts. I dug those trenches about 8-10" deep, sunk the hardware cloth into the trench, then filled the trench with concrete as a dig-preventer for the local critters.

A Tropical Storm, Imelda, will prevent me from doing any work for about the next 2 to 3 days.

Thanks to TS Imelda I just got the first rain in at least a month and a half.
I like your use of the metal on the joints. I’m going to do the same on my run with the use of a palm nailer. I’ll let the compressor do the work.

No nails in this build other than a few hardware cloth "tacks". All done with coated deck screws. Suggest that if you are going to use braces like I did, you use screws. A cordless drill is a real lifesaver. Use the nail gun to "tack" things just to hold them in place unitl you drive in the screws. This thing will be hurricane proof.

Update 9-20 (Friday).

The "storm" only brought us a little less than - 2" of rain so we're good.

I got the last vertical post sunk in cement today as a sudden downpour decided to bless us with its presence. Do you know what happens when 80-LB cement bags get a little wet?

They explode all over the place when you try to pick them up. Ask me how I know...

Also got a few of the upper frame 2x4's secured. Next step is to add a couple horizontal frame pieces to help support the Hardware Cloth on the Run top, then I will begin to install more Hardware Cloth on the entire thing.

Hoping to have them in the new run by sundown Sunday, weather permitting.
