I have had issues with northern fowl mite and lice among other pests in my flock and have found the frontline spray for use on dogs and cats is an extremely effective treatment and keeps the birds free for months on end. One issue I wish to find out about is how it would effect chicks? I have a broody with some lice and her chicks are a week old, would spraying some around her vent onto her skin effect the chicks at all? Also should one withdraw egg use after spraying birds?

Precaution for Frontline spray is not to use on kittens or puppies younger than 8 weeks.

Chicks are much smaller than that. I'd look into getting a milder broad spectrum insecticide. Permethrin10 is a concentrate at your feed store, $7 for 12 0z? You mix to a low concentration ( 1 oz to 1.5 gallons) for poultry. I'd think that would be safe for chicks.
