Frost bite?

To much for me!

Just a update, the warmth seamed to perk her up some:) she is still just kinda resting. Stopping at tsc for some layer pellets tomorrow I’ll look for a eye dropper she will drink if I stick her beak in the water. Hoping that forcing her to drink will help. Anything else I should have on hand ?

Some Nutri-Drench would help her. I think most TSC stores carry it. They make it for different species so try to find the poultry type. http://www.nutridrench.com/
The dosing instructions on the label for her age say 1.5 tsp per gallon. But since she isn't really drinking much, I'd put a few drops of the straight supplement into her beak. She'll absorb it directly into the bloodstream. It is just vitamins, minerals, amino acids and molasses so nothing dangerous. (though overdosing of some vitamins is potentially harmful)
Just keep her as warm as you can.

Most days she just kinda stays in her little “nest” but I that spot may change a couple times a day....keeping her eyes closed unless someone disturbs her, I noticed that a couple days ago...she lays a nice off white eggs!

How is she doing?
You've received some good advice.

A couple of questions - when was the last time she laid an egg?
What type of food/treats do you feed?

Since she is low in pecking order, it may be that she was kept from food/water and she will rally with extra care.

I agree with the Poultry Nutri-Drench, add it to her water, but you can also direct dose her at 1cc per 3lbs of weight. Either drip it onto her beak or I've found mine will take it on chopped boiled or scrambled egg. Getting her hydrated is most important.

As mentioned earlier, she may have something else going on and the cold weather has brought her down further. Laying around most days, to me, would indicate that she is sick from something else besides cold. Give her a good going over for lice/mites, check the crop to see that it's emptying, feel the abdomen for any tightness, bloat or feeling of fluid.
If you have a vet that can perform a fecal float that would be good too.

Sometimes when they are like this they won't eat thier normal feed. Try it as a wet mash or entice her with egg or tuna - food after hydration.

Keep us posted.

After 24 hours in the warm furnace room she is more responsive! She got 1ml of nuti-drench about 30 minutes ago. I put some in her water too. I left her some grower mash, maybe she will eat/drink!

Should I give her another ML in the AM?
Thanks for the help/advice. I’ll keep everyone updated.

That wouldn't hurt. At least she'll have the nutrients to help her fight the issue.
Have you discovered anything she will eat like scrambled/hard boiled egg, scratch or wetted feed?

I know that when I was suffering from an acute respiratory disease and was forced to take cold showers and sleep in a building that never got above about 50F with insufficient bedding - I felt a lot stronger when after a couple months of that, I was allowed to sleep in a heated building and take a hot shower. It still took a long time to recover but I felt so much better.
This is anecdotal at best but anything that is sick needs the therapeutic effect of of a warm location closer to body temperature.

I’m not going to ask....

She will swallow if I put her beak into the wet or dry mash. Same with the water. I do t ha g out much in the furnace room so I’m not sure if she is eating without my help! There is some poo in there though so I’m sure that’s a good thing!

She seams much more with it today/tonight. Although not a lot of food intake.or poo! Another ml of muting-drench. She was standing and walking more then the last few days. The warmth seams to have helped. I’ve been reading other threads and will be looking for a blocked egg and checking her crop. Any other thoughts?

Thanks again for your help
