We all keep learning. I would like to think I have good ventilation but my 2 big comb maran roosters got frostbite the last cold snap we had. Only so much you can do it’s gonna happen.

This is the first day I am not allowing free range in the whole yard. I feel really bad but it's in the negatives but worse is the snow covering a couple ice patches that they won't be able to see. They have access to the fenced in run but are letting me know of their dislike with my arrangement for now. Hahaha

I am thinking about dumping a large amount of shavings for them. Is there any benefits to this? Will it help give them any warmth? They have a pile of hay to spread in the outside run but no one seems interested in it right now.
