My hens stopped laying in November and I didnt want to put artificial lighting in the coop and force them to lay. . They are under a year old and were healthy and I had read and was also told here that unless i put artificial lighting in the coop egg laying would slow and it did once in awhile I would get an egg but that was it. I was frustrated at first because I was told BR would lay through the winter but my girls apparently went on strike. I do turn a heat lamp on when it gets really cold though but its not consistant enough to encourage egg production
