I feel like the most horrible chicken mama ever. I took dlhunicor's and Korfus Kluker's advice and gave my bantys a bath tonight. Thank you so much for the helpful info. While I was bathing them, I noticed some dark spots, about the size of your finger tips almost like lesions, but no open spots. I was afraid to pick at them. Should I try harder?
I feel so absolutely selfish that I've been taking eggs from these girls and wasn't caring for one of their most basic needs, parasite control. My husband built a low roost, so even thought they can't get up to the normal ones, they can now get off the ground. I'll be sure and be diligent about the dusting/spraying from now on. I just feel so awful that I've been neglecting them. I thought it was enough to make sure they had clean water and food. I guess I still have a lot to learn.
