Frostbitten Toes Are Falling Off

My Americauna, Grace #2, got frostbite a while back and I never caught it. I only noticed it when she was limping a couple of weeks ago as two of her toes on her left foot are falling off. She seems to be eating and drinking well. She hops around the coop and the chicken run. My question is this... when they do finally fall all the way off, will she still be able to get around well enough or did she just move to the bottom of the pecking order? What should I expect? What should I look out for?

Two of my roosters lost ALL toes, they are getting around perfectly fine. They are not bottom of the pecking order, they are happy and run just like a normal chicken. Once the frostbitten toe falls off, the limping stops.
Just make sure there aren't any open wounds on the foot, if there's blood you should spray it with vetrimycin, at least that's what I did.

Thank you! That is very reassuring! I felt pretty good that she was at least in the chicken run with the other ladies but I wasn't sure. It's definitely a learning process!

It definitely Is! My first year of owning Silkies, one jumped in the water dish at -3°F and lost her entire feet, both of them. She stumbled, but ran just as fast as the other silkies, I'd barely considered her handicapped. I've learned now to use hanging waterers to avoid water related frostbite.

Can you post a picture of her toes? They usually only lose the black shriveled portion. Any swollen pale pink areas above that usually heal.
