I have a red star who had been missing some feathers from being so cooped up this winter. A few weeks ago I moved her into the garage. I was pretty certain that it was warm enough for her in there and I had lots of straw on the ground in the puppy play pen I set up for her.
Today, I was out checking on her and her feathers look really good but I noticed her toes. They are all blackish/blueish and shrunken up. Last winter I lost my favorite chicken to frost bit on it's feet and I'm pretty sure that's what this is. It's only on the tips of her toes and I think it's dead tissue.
I was wondering if there is any suggestions to what I might possibly be able to do for her. Besides the awful looking toes, she seems healthy and getting around okay. Is there anything I can even do for her?
