Frozen Combs today :(

It's 15 below this morning. My rooster and a couple hens froze their combs last night. This cold snap is NO fun. At least it's not 40 below here like it is in Fairbanks. Hope everyone is staying warm out there (people and animals)!
 
aw, I sorry! You could put vaseline on those combs...I don't have any experience with it cause I live in Tx, but that's what I hear works. Stay warm out there!
 
Yikes! And I was griping about it being 20 degrees out. I'll shut up and stop whining now.

Often the problem is not the cold itself but the cold plus humidity. Are you feeling good about the amount of ventilation you have up high in the coop?

Edited to say: I have no experience with temperatures in the minus double digits. My response comes from what I've read on the forum from people who do have that experience.
