Genius me left the feed bucket out in the run last night and it froze. The chickens enjoyed their substitute oatmeal and cranberries breakfast, but now I’m adding to the still frozen FF. Is it still good? Do I need to start the fermentation process over? What does freezing do to all the lovely goodness?

It was low anyway, so I used some hot water to make more and melt the remainder, too. The chickens aren’t complaining, yet.

Yep, takes a freezing and keeps on kicking. When it freezes in their serving bowl, I just bring it in so it can thaw overnight. i try not to feed them till mid day, when the temp gets as warm as it's gonna get. If we have a prolonged cold spell, I give FF, and then top off with dry feed.
