Beeswax candles have the longest burn-time at ~8-10hrs/oz; simply put in a larger candle to last overnight

You don't need water in the coop at night, chickens don't drink in the dark. Sorry, though, I have no info on solar heat.

Good point but chickens do need water as soon as they're on the floor.
There are a horse fonts that that are in the ground, Bar-Bar-A is one??. You still have get water to it without the water freezing.
So the best solution (IMO) is to trench for water and electricity. A couple of weekend should do it OH! don't forget to invite a few friends the with the trenching!
