FRUSTRATED! Circular saw question

Tell me, do they make a decent, inexpensive cordless circular saw? The one that we have is awful.. the battery runs down in about 2 minutes! My ducks would have a house now were it not for this **$&$%#&&@^@ saw.

We have an electric saw, but no blades. That would PROBABLY be my best bet.. but I feel like BUYING SOMETHING! And I sure do like the freedom of cordless.

I went out to work and cut 1 2X4... and part of another.. saw is done. That batteries must not hold much of a charge!

The key word here is inexpensive. I am a tool nut and have made my living with them for over 50 years. I never buy anything but he best, and they are never inexpensive, but they are less expensive in the long run. Milwaukee probably has the best battery pack available. You get what you pay for.

That's good to know... because I do NOT want to buy a piece of junk again... but I don't want to dump a lot of money into a piece of junk either!

hmm...maybe I should just go buy a blade for the electric one. Not sure if I am ready to spend $200..

Any good tool equals expensive. DH does our macanic work (farm) and I won't even look at the inexpensive tools. I agree that Milwaukee is great-cordless and corded. We also have some Dewalt things but, not their cordless so I don't know how those are.

I agree with geareduplyn. Milwaukee is probably the best, followed by Ryobi or Dewalt. All are expensive, if you buy something that will last, has good power, and has a battery that holds a charge.

I lean toward at least an 18 volts, but prefer 24 volt. Some people say that 24 volt is too much torque.

d to hear that Milwaukee is the name of choice! I don't know much about them and would have went with Dewalt.

Some day, I will get DH nice tools.. and I will know to look at Milwaukee Brand! thanks!

I just talked with him on the phone and let some frustrations out. He PROMISES to get a new blade this weekend for me for the electric saw.

That's all the help that I need. I will build the duck house and pen.. I just need a little tool guidance!

Time has run out now today, I have to get ready for work.
Tomorrow I will be gone all day and Saturday too.. maybe even Sunday.

Hummm.... new blade for corded saw $7 new cordless saw (Milwaukee) $170.......Go with new combination blade. if/when you go with a new cordless the Milwaukee 6421 is rated the best and has a great warranty.

I have a cordless craftman from Sears. he battery lasts quite a while. but the blades are quite expensive.

We have the 18V B & D Firestorm. Not bad, but we have multiple batteries and I would not build more than a shed with it. You get what you pay for with tools.

I borrowed a lovely cordless saw from a friend of mine. Works great..but is also brand new. But..my drill..ugh...I would of been done the coop by now, but it only charges up enough to screw in 4 screws at a time. I feel your pain......
