Frustrated with Ebay

I thought Sellers couldn't leave negative feedback for buyers, but buyers could leave negative feedback for sellers? If that is true, I would definitely leave negative feedback Pumpkinpup. That stinks!

Ebay is run by a bunch of greedy, stupid and arrogant freaks from San Francisco.

They have no clue how the free market works, they screw sellers any way they can.

That's why this once great company is going down the drain.

LOL, I doubt they do it intentionally. I have almost never sold anything on ebay, but as a buyer I was always extremely upset by the fact that many sellers held the buyers hostage with the threat of negative feedback if the buyer dare complain about anything.

If the buyer has paid promptly, then you should not be able to rate them negatively. A seller always has the opportunity to comment on any negative feedback. Ebay is simply not the ideal place to be selling things that are likely to have problems - like hatching eggs. Poor hatch rates should be mentioned even if under a positive rating. The fact that a customer rates the experience as a negative when they don't hatch - is simply reality. They had a negative experience. I think that is best handled as a neutral, but it a difficult situation with no ideal answer.

The seller's advantage is that if they can get them to the buyer without breakage, most buyers will rate the transaction long before they hatch - as a positive. In reality the seller may be selling infertile eggs or killing them before they're shipped and most of those sellers won't get the negative rating they deserve. Ebay isn't perfect by a long shot, but it's a lot better now than it was when seller's held the threat of a negative over every buyer who dared complain.

I do agree that people should voice thier opinion when they have had a negative or nuetral experience with thier purchase and or transaction... BUT
as a seller I can not

Leave a negative feedback when someone purchases an item and ditches the order, thus leaving me tied up in a month long battle to get my fees reimbursed... and still can't let other people know that this person doesn't pay without leaving them a positive feedback...

NOR can I be imperfect in ANY way because as a seller when you get a certain ammount (which is a very minimum ammount) of negative or nuetral feedback or low DSR ratting which is the star thing, will get kicked off of ebay... So as a seller If I do everything to make the customer happy... when things have gone a little wrong in thier opinion... They have every right to leave negative, but ebay can put it into their computer and their robots kick you off :} lol....

I think that people selling animals should be put at at higher level of responsibility, because you are not just risking a negative feedback, but a dead animal!

BUT yes ebay is VERY corrupt!
Probably not the best place to buy eggs...

Don't condemn all the sellers because of the actions of one. There are many, many good and honest sellers on Ebay that make up for the bad ones.

Read feedback, contact the seller, and buyers if necessary to get a good grasp on what they are all about. Ask them where their birds came from, for more pictures, whatever it takes. If they are a good seller they will gladly provide you with the information and help that you need.

I agree. I use EBAY a good bit for buying and selling, and yes I did have one bad experience with a seller who had a pair of shoes advertised as EXCELLENT USED CONDITION. Well, they had several holes in them, the heels(ankle) were dry-rotted and the padding was gone from slipping them on without being untied. I had to file a paypal dispute to get her to refund my money, and I left negative feedback-I did try to work it out reasonably first, and she wanted to know what I was complaining about and then ignored me for 5 days after I sent pictures. Then she wanted me to revise my feedback because "you got your money back". But, for that one bad experience I have had dozens of WONDERFUL buyers and sellers. Now, when I am looking for something-from an old cassette tape that I loved but couldn't find anywhere-to appliance parts and even hatching eggs, EBAY is where I usually end up finding it, and usually for a much better price.
As for selling animals, you can't-but hatching eggs aren't considered live animals. Also, most people don't know this, but you can follow-up to feedback that you left. For instance, I bought hatching eggs from a seller with a great feedback score (and yes, buyers can leave negative feedback for a seller), mostly from selling eggs. I bought 12+ eggs and he sent 18. They were well-packed, with none broken, so I gave him positive feedback. Then when my chicks hatched I went back into my feedback left section and followed-up saying how many hatched and what quality they were. I only had 2 hatch, but it was humidity problems-the chicks were fully developed and died before they hatched.
