Hello my name is Greneyez I'm new here. Looking for some advice on how to feed my chickens. We started out with crumble then change to pellets now we have corn and they're not eating it. Started out OK at the beginning with all of it but then after a while they stopped eating and now they're just making a mess. They act like they're starving to death and I'm not sure what else to do now like I said I started out with crumble that just turned out to be dust. Changed pellets they did ok in the beginning but soon stopped eating. We changed again to corn now they're back to not eating again. They are making a mess with the corn. So any advice on what to do. We just have 8 layer and 1 pain in the butt roster.

A friend gave it to us.
So not needed. Anyway. Any thoughts.

By corn do you mean just straight corn? Because that's not what a chicken needs in their diet :) I would say if they ate the crumble and the one brand you got was mostly dust, try another brand of crumble.

Hi and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us.

I agree that proprietary chicken feed is the best (and only IMO) way to feed you flock. You can try mixing the feed with water to make a thick porridge and fee that to them and see how it goes. Only feed enough that it takes the flock around 30 mins to finish up. Then leave the dry feed for them for the rest of the day and repeat the porridge feed later in the day.

Hello, thank you for replying back. It's corn mix just for layers. Just like the pellets and the crumble. It's all for layers.
I like said try another brand. This was Purina for everything I have bought. I can try another brand. See what they do.
Thank you.
