FS: Chicken saddles (wing protector) and goose, duck, chicken diapers

I wouldn't mind a circus scene but right now I am having knee problems and have to depend on my friend to feed and take care of the chicks and chickens. Today I went out and sat in the chicken yard and we turned the teenagers in with the big chickens for a while. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I would not leave them in there with them with out us there yet. They stayed in the corner most of the time with one big chicken at a time visiting them. LOL It was fun. I love chickens and could sit out there and watch them all day long. Tomorrow I will take my camera and get pictures and put the saddles on and see what happens.

I put the saddle on the bird that had the wings bald. She was upset and ran around. I know you said to put them on in the evening but I had help at the time and needed to do it. Poor thing is still not happy. It has been 4 days. She kind of crawls around instead of walking. It is like she things there is a weight on her back. She sits a lot on the ground too. The other girl I put the other one on is fine and didn't even act out at all. My helper ended up taking it off her again and made it a little shorter in the back. She is a small Australorp. I know they are usually big but this one and another one I have are smaller than the first one I got. She lays a med size egg too while the first one I got lays a large one. Anyway, I don't know what to do about her. Her whole back is bare and red. I don't have a rooster now but I worry about the others picking at the new feathers and sun burn. I love the saddles.

Get some bluekote or some pine tar. The bluekote will protect the skin, and the pine tar will deter pecking

By any chance do you make a diaper that would fit peafowl chix? ..right now they are pigeon sized..but obviously they are growing by the day & i dont know if the tails would be an issue for diapers.

I don't know why because they really aren't heavy. Maybe try it again later. Hope it works for you eventually.

I've made them for seramas so I'm sure I can. Get the measurement. I explain how to do on post 1. You only measure to the vent so tail feathers don't matter. I've actually made these for parakeets. They are itty bitty.

Aaargh! Tried to PM you, but I'm not sure it went through (Sorry, I'm such a newb

) If it didn't go through, please let me know! Need diapers asap! Crazy teenage chicks - too hot in the desert right now to leave them outside. I'm referring to poultry, btw.

PUL should be here tomorrow so diapers will be going out. All I have to do is finish the liner. Thanks for patience. Tess
