I week ago today I picked up 6 hens. I had also gave 3 of my 4 roosters back to the breeder who originally sold the eggs to my daughter who hatched 15 of 24 eggs for her class of students. I took 4 & yes they were all Roos. I of course wanted some hens. He told me they all had started laying already. Great I thought. 1 week later I do have 4 eggs all from the same hen. Beautiful pinkish brown from an Americana. He did say I had 3 americanas 1 Buff brahma who is white with black and 1 Buff Orpington who is my prettiest light light tannish orangish. All pics Ive seen of the buff brahmas all show fully feathered legs. Mine has a few that look like they are just starting. So is she really a buff brahma? I also have another all white one with yellow legs line of feathers on each leg. Not sure what she is any ideas. I ve checked all their vents and all look great so im not sure why none except 1 is laying. I bought the same exact food from the same fresh feed farm. All poop looks normal. So any help will be appreciated. As you can see in these pics the featherers on leg is just one line and she is all white the other is white & black with nothing on her legs. So im not sure what I have. Lol of course I had to include the of my pretty girl tge Buff Orpington.

The white one with the yellow legs and feathers on its feet is a mix, the other white one may be a light delaware, and the last one is an Easter Egger which isn't really a breed but a mix which normally always has Americana in it.

Your bigger white bird with the black collar is a Light Brahma, probably hatchery quality thus giving her the lightly feathered legs. A buff Brahma would be a buff color with the black collar and tail.

Your white bird looks to have some Brahma ancestry (pea comb and lightly feathered legs, both dominant traits) but she's not pure.

Your brown and black hen is an Easter egger or a mixed breed. It's mostly a matter of semantics, but I personally don't consider them Easter eggers unless they lay blue or green eggs. Others disagree.

If they were actually laying at the sellers, it's usually just a matter of time until they adjust to the move and start laying again.
