Sadly, Jazzy was bred in Kansas and I'm in MA so I can't see her parents. I don't have pictures either, I will have to get some. Her hair is getting a little less cottony so I'm hoping her hair will become less cottony/frizzy when she gets olderAlso, For a shih tzu, do you reccomend a harness or a collar? I'm thinking of buying a soft harness because she has both a regular harness and a collar but she still chokes when she pulls. She's very good on the leash until we get to the local dog store LOL The only reason I'm concerned about the soft harness is mats. They need to invent a mat-proof harness somehow

Either a collar or harness, but most people go with a collar to reduce tangles. The most problems occur when people leave harnesses on for more a than a walk outside and especially if they get wet when tangled and their coat drys, the tangles will shrink when they dry, and then every day it gets worse. You will have to see what works for you though, I know lots of small dogs kind of choke themselves while walking espescially when young. Some will grow out of it more, some won't. Not sure what you mean exactly by a softer harness. Some softer materials, although softer, have more fibers that may pull more on certain types of coats. So some that are of a harder material may acutally mat less. If I were to own a small dog in full coat and want a harness, I might try out a rolled slippery leather harness. But that's probably something you will have to explore with your own dog' coat to know exactly. Good luck!
