I recently began raising a few chickens in my backyard. I started with 12 red sex links
And 6 Cornish rocks. I later added a mix of dominecker Rhode island reds buff orpingtons black australop and barred rocks. All are in the coop together totaling 32 birds. They are all around 5 months give or take a week or 2. Last week we got 2 eggs both were white. We separated the roosters from the hens have been feeding laying pellets and scratch. Should I start seeing regular egg production or will it be a few more weeks?

They should be laying around that age, maybe they don't know that it's time for them to lay

All birds mature at different rates. The average age for laying is between 5 and 7 months. They should all start laying fairly soon. It takes a while for pullets to get their egg laying machines in gear and to start really producing eggs on a regular basis. The eggs will get larger as time goes on as well.

So just give them time and hopefully soon you are filling your basket with lots of eggs!

Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and the best layers of the standard, brown egg laying breeds. Please feel free to ask any more questions you may have. Welcome to BYC, sounds like a lovely flock you have!
 
When pullets are approaching point of lay, they combs and faces will redden, they will also squat if you touch them on the back. They should lay soon after exhibiting this behavior.
