I have some eggs in the incubator, but it seems that I am going to get less than I wanted. They should hatch next week. I'd like to start another set, but with winter coming up I want to be sure they are ready for winter before it hits in November. How old should chicks be before they can go to the coop in cold weather?

If I do the math and it doesn't work out I will just buy some chicks but I'd really like another go at incubating my own if there is time.

Mine were outside by 8 weeks old. It was early March, nighttime temps were about mid 30s and they did fine.
