Fun Day at the Lake.....Gone Very BAD :( *Updated* *Added Pics*

mom'sfolly :

Is she at Brackenridge? If so is there anything you need for help in the area? I'm going on vacation in a couple of days, but if you need something I might be able to help. Sorry I didn't ask sooner.

Yes she's at Brackenridge... I appreciate the offer, but I think we have everything taken care of. My Dad lives in Driftwood and is a Volunteer Fireman there, and he also works at Round Rock hospital...so he knows the ins and outs of ER's, ICU's, etc. My mom lives in Dallas but she drove down to Austin and is staying at a hotel (Embassy Suites I think). I came back here to Sealy to take care of her pets (and mine, of course).

I've been gone all day, so I just saw your reply. My Dad works on computers at Round Rock (so, IT Department???). I just talked to him a few minutes ago and he said he went back to work today, then back to Brackenridge after work. He said he was amazed at how much better Robbie was doing. She's starting to walk on crutches a little bit!

YIKES!!! I don't know why they want her up out of bed so soon....can't the poor girl's bones heal a little first??? He was really proud of her...she's a trooper. She was complaining about her knee hurting, though...and something wrong with her hand...so they'll be doing more X-rays or MRI's.

You and your famiy are in my prayers and I wish Robbie & Trina a speedy recovery...what a nightmare...thank God no-one was killed....

I just wanted to say Thank You soooo much...all of you who've posted, or at least read this thread...for your prayers and good wishes.

I truly believe that it helps. She's recovering wonderfully...so much better than I could have imagined

She's toughing it out and doing everything the Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist tell her to do...with very little pain meds. Mom said she has a morphine button but rarely pushes it because she wants to be alert, not drugged up. I don't know...I think if I were in that situation, I would want to be put in a drug induced COMA!

Sending prayers your way for Robbie and Trina so that they have a speeding and quick recovery. It seems that the doctors these days want people up and out of bed as soon as possible. With open heart patients they are usually up or at least sitting up within 24 hours. Ouch!!!!

Glad to hear your sis is OK. I'm an orthopedic RN, and it sounds like she is being managed very well. Was her hip repaired surgically? Kudos for her to get moving and follow instructions from the therapists. It's the folks who refuse to move that have MORE pain, quickly develop complications, and stay in the hospital longer.

wow, just read this thread and I pray for a speedy recovery. It's good your sister is up and about. It will take time and determination to aid in recovery. Sounds like she has the determination covered. It's wonderful she has such a wonderful family to help her out.

Don't know how I missed this .. very scary! I'm glad she's doing well .. they like them to get up and start moving pretty quick .. good for her!

BTW .. we were at Canyon Lake this weekend and from your pics, it looks like Lk Travis is just as low as CL .. Where's the rain, man??
