Fun ideas to keep Quail active

I have a pair of quail that just walk around in a coop all day. So I was trying to think of some ideas to keep them active!

Spread some birdseed in their bedding or in "hiding places" around their coop!

Feeding them live mealworms also seems to make mine energetic.

I sometimes hang millet sprays up slightly higher than they can reach and they jump for it. Good exercise and funny to watch.

Mine love a feeding ball, filled with letuce and other greens. Always a highlight.

You can buy them in every Animal-Store here in Germany.

I have a pair of quail that just walk around in a coop all day. So I was trying to think of some ideas to keep them active!

We went by TSC one day to get some feed and saw this little hamster toy on sale. It is a kabob type thing that hangs from the ceiling with a shiny bell on the end. They love it and ring it all the time. My ladies also like to run through tubes and burrow in leaves. The best entertainment you can get imo is a sand bath. It's fun for them and for you!

Sand baths are wonderful. For my second run I built it around a cement mixing bin filled with sand. It's easy to clean and I can wash and reuse sand after sifting.
