Fun ideas to keep Quail active

A dust bath filled with peat moss or sand or even just dry soil is a great way for them to occupy their time. Each quail will try to dust bath at least twice a day! You can hide seeds or live insects in it as well, although this may make them kick all of the dust out while looking for them. I also like to mix a bit of coarse grit and small gravel into the dust box since I notice mine like to eat their grit while digging dust bathing.

I like your pipe cleaner @CovidtimeQuail. Nice touch. I didn't know you can wash the sand! My toy feeder is DIY. I use deep cardboard sand boxes with ramps so they won't kick out the sand

LOL. The orange pipe cleaner is holding up the quail cam inside -- no structural purpose.
