Fun in the sun with the girls!

My rooster is getting the hang of it :) He sure is sweet to them though. He spreads his love around

Have you seen him yet? If you didn't live in the burbs, it is wonderful to watch a rooster with his ladies. They take such good care, and my hens honestly seem happier when they are around. Since Jagger started mating Dixie, she started laying nearly every day! I'm thinking she knows those eggs are fertilized and she wants to start a family, but I might be crazy

There are my two other girls as well :D I just love barred rocks!

Aw he looks so mature/serious about his girls!
We don't want a rooster because, they crow, they produce babies (Unless someone wouod be interested in buying a baby Gloria! LOL!) and i've heard some can be mean to the hens. Thats just my opinion on roosters, I've got nothing against them, they just aren't for me. (Plus, I live in a neighborhood and I don't think the neighbors would like me much if I got one that crowed.)

But jagger is simply.... manly cute!

Yeah, some can be mean to the girls. Glad mine isn't :)

I want babies :D Can't wait! When we move we will have breeding coops.

Really, my girls are more dangerous than my boys. Had my 3 year old nephew pecked by Marge (the younger barred rock) this morning. She thought he was food.
