Fun time for me & The girls, but I have a ?......

A friend of mine gave me a sack FULL of pomegranites(sp). I quartered a few and gave them to the herd. They had a blast and a massive "chase the posseser of the prize" game.

I have read of the adverse effects of fruit relating to laying....is there any truth to this or is it just bunk? I don't want to screw them up, but they sure seem to love the pom's.

i dont think its true...
i basically give my chickens fruit every day as a treat and i get an egg a day from each.

as long as u feed the egg laying pellets as their main diet, then i think they should continue to lay

but i heard if the chickens are unhappy in thier mood...not laying eggs is a sign.

Hello! My chickens LOVE fruit! Watermelon is their ultimate favorite.

Grapes come in a close second.

I think the pomegrantes are fine.
