Last night I made spaghetti. I put sausage and shredded zucchini in the sauce (one of the few ways I get DBF to eat zucchini). I saved some of the shredded zucchini for the chicks. After mixing it with yogurt and some oatmeal I'd spilled last week, out into the back yard I went.

They LOVED it. Everyone was grabbing a beakful and running off with it, trying to keep it away from her sisters. All 4 were doing this at the same time - nobody chasing anyone but all afraid they wouldn't get enough!

Yes, isn't it heartwarming how they share?

One of mine had a teeny little earthworm today. All 11 of the others took off after her...it was like, you guys, there's no shortage of worms around here...go get your own!

Anyone on this forum who has kids knows that this is how it TRULY is in REAL life.....
You aren't interested in something until your sibling has it....then YOU GOTTA HAVE IT!

My two kids were outside with me looking at their chicks (they each have one) and we were feeding them slugs. As my Son and Daughter were fighting over who's slug was who's, the chicks were playing keep away with the one that was dropped into the pen.

I just couldn't help but laugh at the similarities.

I thought I was the only one that sneaks veggies into the main dish.

I'm ususally sneaking cooked carrots or zucchini into everything....kids gotta have their veggies.

Today the cluckers are getting shredded zucchini, kale and tomato salad for their daily treat.....maybe a little yogurt on top. It's a chicken frenzy when I go out to the coop with their treat.

And Jenn...how's Tacoma?....I miss it soooo much. Regret moving back to CA and eventually plan on moving back to WA. We lived in the Yelm/Lacey area for awhile and then on Ft. Lewis. Washington is a fantastic place to live....sigh.
