This summer we are having heavy fox action as I am breaking in two pups to be poultry guardians. The pups are very fast and I am trying to condition them to be harder charging than their father and willing to chase farther than their mother. So far working very well. I am keeping the dogs in house during night and sleeping with windows open. When chickens stir we go out together to run fox off with lots of my encouragement. Multiple foxes and now a juvenile Great-horned Owl are involved. Pups doing really well!

Last night fox was in field over hill eating what I think was a rabbit. Pup Pup and her mother Honey went after fox that then retreated to heavy brush and then off through woods. Honey demonstrated a bad example of dog aggression interfering with Pup Pup's run on fox. Pup Pup also coming into heat so she will now require more direct oversight until heat passes.
