Funeral luncheon menu

Been thinking about you.
Hope things are going as smoothly as possible, given the circumstances

I think it is more of a southern thing. When DD#1 was born, the church we attended at the time brought me a meal every night for I think a week or two. I really appreciated it. I live in a college town and our neighbors that do live here year-round pretty much keep to themselves. It works for me though - it's how I've been getting away with having roosters in town!

I don;t know--everywhere I've lived it seems common to bring food to families having difficult times (deathe, illness, etc.). The family with the baby with cancer has had more food brought than they could readily use--so they froze a lot to use during her ongoing chemo treatments. When I had babies and surgery on my foot we had food brought over. When my f-i-l passed away, food was brought over.

I 'm so sorry , i didnt see this till today. My thoughts are with you and your husband.

Well, today is over. *Breath of relief.* DH did as best as he could. To say family relationships are strained is putting it gently, I guess. We found out that one of his nieces got married last weekend and we were the only ones NOT invited. I barely even know these people, so whatever.

But I feel so bad for DH. But three other siblings didn't show up to the funeral today - he's one of nine living children.

Today's service was just odd. There was no receiving line or anything. And MIL and two siblings rode in a limo - but no other kids did. But anyway, we just had a small luncheon back at our house and whoever showed up showed up - only 4 people came besides our immediate family. And I'm perfectly fine with that. DH appreciated it, and I'm glad I could do it. There was no other meal afterwards (at least that I know of), no church meal, or anything.

Then, after we cleaned up, I ran up to TSC! At least that was a pleasant experience!

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I am so glad that I'm returning to work tomorrow - imagine that!!!

Oh, memal! Thanks! I just saw it was you that posted! Thank you very much, I'll let my husband know that you posted. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
