Funky egg

    I pulled this egg out of a nestbox yesterday. I think it is from one of my delawares. Looks like she splattered it with paint!

    Hey, I got one almost identical to that today also. AND, it just so happened I was in the coop at the time my buff orpington stood up and "plop," out came the egg! I picked it up, and it was still wet (moist). As I held it, when it was drying, the coloring emerged. It was so cool to watch... all of 30 seconds!
    ETA: Did you know hens do not lay eggs while sitting down? They stand up!

    [​IMG] Wow...that is a gorgeous egg!!! Looks like it was decorated by hand...I'd be hoping for some more of those.
