Incidentally, my two dark hybrid hens are variously named 'black rocks" or "bovans nera". They are a cross between a Rhode Island Red and a Barred Plymouth Rock. I have started referring to them as Rocky Rhodes. I have since found out this was the name of the rooster in chicken run!

Salmon Faverolle- Chewy (because she loves to peck at my ring.

)
Black Silkie- Raven (because she looks like one)
Red Polish- Tequila
Easter Eggers- Tulip, Opal, Jupiter, and Basil

I saved these two for last because their names go together
White Polish- Dipsy
Buff Orpington- Doodle
I already had a Doodle, I might as well have a Dipsy!

I have 12 in the bator, but it's just for an experiment :3 I've never successfully hatched anything before, plus they're whole foods eggs, so I'm not expecting much. Still, I can't help but counting my chicks before they hatch ! I wanna name one Yoko... lol
