Funniest Things A City Slicker Has Ever Said To You?

I have a story!

(We had my two silkies on display for our FFA chapter at a little Spring Fling thing)

Woman: What are those?!
Me: Oh! There a new cross between a Pomeranian and a chicken!
Woman: Oh my gosh! No way?! That's crazy!
Me: (silentley laughing in my head)

I don't have anything to say here, but it's always hilarious to see their faces when you say,

"Be careful, she might poop on you."

My chickens roost in the rafters and that has happened to me many times!  LOL!!

Especially when I am trying to count them, had my head on an angle, and one of the hens dropped her gift in my ear! :sick LOL!!

Got an other city slicker moment-

It was one of my sister's open house, and some old friend of my mom was over with her daughter and her kids. I was giving them a tour of our farm, and we came to the fence in area where my month old pair of Emus are.

Me- These are Emus, and I hatched them myself.

The daughter- Oh WOW, I did not know that they come from eggs!!

My mom's friend- Well, they ARE birds...

The daughter- Oh, I must be thinking of a different animal...

Me- LOLing in my head. :gig

My Emus when they were a month old, they are now 2 months old-
1000

WRONG.

my cats are free fed (meaning their food is always out and they are able to graze when they want.) at four years old they are both 11 pounds (brother and sister from the same litter.) and still hunt whenever they can.

THAT BEING SAID.

i also adopted them at four weeks old after their mother died, and they kill mice for me frequently. they dont eat them, there is never even a speck of blood. they always leave the body somewhere i know they will find it.

i dont think animals "stuff" themselves the way we people do.

i think the whole cat converation has not been based on the kind of experience i have had with mine which is cats in their prime, access to food all day long, mother died when they were four weeks old, avid hunters anyhow.
you obviously never met my cat

and he is over 20 lnds and hunts like the old pro he is
smile.png
he even tought us to either leave the food out all the time or have a mess to clean up in the morning. he also leaves us "presents" right outside our doors *shudder* he has even brought in live birds in the middle of the night

I've got two off the top of my head:

"Are they roosters or chickens?" :gig I bet some other people have gotten this one.
--
Me - "They're three year old hens, and we get fresh eggs every day!"

This girl - "Cool! So, are they laying eggs?"

:gig Oh god.

i've had conversations like that about ducks and chickens and how they can lay eggs anyways with a boy. i just tell them its like the bird's period, normally the stop eating eggs for awhile....oops. haha.
Thats what i do to explain it to my friends! i dont have ducks or chickens...yet, but when a clueless person asks a dumb question you have to find a way to answer it that they will understand!

My cat actually caught a brown bat I had to get a waste basket and scare the cat away from it and with a news paper I got it trapped and tossed out the door I had just let the cat in the thing was just scared and flew off.

im so happy that they dont live close to us or just choose to not get near the cats! they think that he is a raccoon sometimes and they run up to the house yelling that there is a raccon in our drive way and he is just looking at them probly thinking what is wrong with you? and just starts "talking" to us! we even have conversations and he is just like a dog! begging all the time for food!

Im considered a "city slicker" unfortunately, because i live in a suburban town with no farms, but im probably the only person in my area that knows about this stuff. But when I was younger i said something really dumb (i didnt know anything about this stuff cuz im not in an area where people farm):

(we are at the deli counter at the food store)

Brother: You know, ham comes from pigs!
Me: Oh, so does like, cheese, come from ducks? (because ducklings are yellow)

I was very young when i said this though, but im sure if i was raised around ducks i would think differently!
