Funniest Things A City Slicker Has Ever Said To You?

A few years ago I saw a contestant on Family Feud who was an elementary school teacher. This woman thought Hawaii was a foreign country and that New Mexico was part of Mexico.

Every few years you hear of some SITTING members of CONGRESS do not understand that some US states are part of the USofA. I remember several years back (about 12 years ago) I was listening to a talk radio show focused on business and consumer affairs and some light legal questions (do I need a lawyer or can I just file a form at the court house for a name change or something like that), I was in my 20's and a woman (sounded like she was 70-80's from sound of her voice and an American or at least a long time resident of the US) asked the host if she needed a passport to visit Porto Rico her cruise went to the keys and US Virgin islands also but she was concerned about Porto Rico, the host asked if she was an American. She answered yes and he told her no because it was part of the USA and she acted like she was just told the moon was not made out of green cheese.

I once knew a college educated travel agent who asked me if London was a country. When I responded "No. It's a city in England", she asked if England was a continent.

Porto Rico is not one of the 50 states so I can understand not knowing if you need a passport to go there because you don't know that it's a territory of the US ( every once in a while you hear talk about making P.R. the 51st state). In school, you learn about the 50 states and their capitals. You don't learn about all the other places the US owns.

Used to you didn't need one to go to Canada or Mexico, but new rules have made it necessary. I can see someone thinking you might need a passport if you go anywhere outside the continental 48.

I had a girl when I lived in San Diego asked me where eggs came from and after I told her she will never eat an egg again. I asked her where she thought they came from and she said she thought they threw them up LOL
